Swimming

The Swimming deposit is due in by this Friday 1st August. We have asked for all medical forms and the bus and pool assistance notes to be returned by this date as well. If you are able to help please let your child’s teacher know as assistance will be needed both on the buses and in the change rooms. Please note that you need to show evidence of a working with children’s check in order to assist.

Welcome back!!!

Welcome back to Term 3! We are already in the swing of things and the first week is nearly over. How fast has that gone!?

-Reading mums/dads will be up and running shortly with parent rep(s) working hard to finalise the timetable. We look forward to seeing you at 3pm!

– On Monday 21st July the whole school will participate in a library incursion.

The Tony Bones Theatre Group will be performing two of the 2013 CBCA shortlisted books. This is a part of our Book Week celebrations along with the Book Fair.

The performances will be in the school hall – thanks to Mr Panou and Mr Hazlett! The Grade One children will be viewing a performance titled “The Windy Farm”.

– Grade 1 in terms 3 and 4 have Library fortnightly to allow Grades 4, 5 and 6 to enjoy a weekly session with the librarians. Our fortnightly session is allocated for students to return and borrow books. The sessions will be run by your child’s classroom teacher. 1B and 1G are allocated Thursday fortnightly and 10 and 1R are allocated Friday fortnightly. Please refer to your class term planner.

– Swimming will begin in weeks 7 and 8. Yesterday a note was sent home outlining the details and payment information. Please take note of the payment dates to ensure your child does not miss out. You can find a downloadable version of the notice under the ‘Grade One Notices’ tab on the left. We look forward to seeing all of the children in the pool!

-Book club was sent home today and is due on Tuesday 22nd July.

Mid Year Interviews- online booking system

During the last week of this term commencing Monday, 23rd June- 27th June, parents will have the opportunity to book a fifteen minute interview with your child’s class teacher. Parent/Teacher interviews are an important avenue for two- way communication about the progress of your child’s learning and therefore we strongly encourage you to avail yourself of this opportunity.

Bookings are done on-line by accessing the website at www.schoolinterviews.com.au

Commence by entering the school code which is: KAVPP and then click GO.

The rest is done in three easy steps:

  1. Enter your name, your student’s name(s) and your email address.
  2. On the next page choose the teachers you wish to meet. Don’t forget the Specialists!
  3. Then you’ll see a timetable showing when your chosen teachers are available. Simply click on the times that suit you.

When you have finished, your interview timetable will be emailed to you. If something comes up and you need to make a time change, you can return to the site and change your times.

The website will open at 9-00am on Friday 6th June and close on Sunday 15th June at 8-00pm.

The Specialists also include Raine Stoncius (Reading Recovery Grade 1); Jan Coleman (Literacy Intervention P-2); and Jan Trend (Science Leaders and Senior Science)

The above information will also appear on your class blog at http://grade1laburnum.global2.vic.edu.au/

If you have any queries please contact the school office on 9898 5811.
